After Paramount announced its come back to Blu-ray and release of a whole list of movies, they decided to start a website dedicated to Blu-ray format. It has information about what Blu-ray is, Blu-ray movies, new title releases, news about the format, etc. The website is very raw right now, with a lot of “coming soon”screens which is suprising, I would expect more from a big studio like Paramount, specially since they are already behind compared to the others so a few more weeks wait to finish the site would not make a difference and we would not have so many annoying “coming soon” pages… We assume they will be finishing these pages soon to prepare it to be the primary link on future Paramount BD-Live titles.
This is a little except we took from the site: “Paramount
Home Entertainment introduces a whole new way to watch your favorite blockbusters! With any BD-Live enabled Blu-ray disc, you can download additional features right to your Blu-ray player, if your player is compatible with BD-Live (I.E., a Blu-ray Profile 2.0 player or newer) and is connected to the internet with a high-speed connection. And even better, new features are added all the time, so you can keep checking back for more first-look extras! Stay tuned for BD-Live movies from Paramount Home Entertainment.”
We’ve added Paramount’s site to our blogroll so you can easily access it!

Many people were disappointed when Paramount announced Blu-ray titles and Transformers was not on the list…
According to www.tvshowsondvd.com, this is a fact and the wait will end soon. An inside tip was received on the Blu-ray arrival and Transformers will be available on September 2nd! I find it odd that Paramount would announce all those titles in April but not Transformers and now, one month later, these news pop up on the net. I agree that sooner or later the movie will make its Blu debut since it is the only logic way. However, I am a bit skeptical on the release date until I see it coming from Paramount, which hopefully will be soon. The movie has already seen hi-def with the dead HD-DVD format and if the arrival to Blu-ray news is true the features and extras will be very similar. As one of the dead HD-DVD’s supporters, Paramount threw in the towel right after Toshiba, saying it would release its movies in blu-ray. The thing was, they never detailed when or which titles until today. A press release came out with more info on releases and dates. On the press release, they mention Bee Movie, a Special Collector’s Edition of Face Off and Next starting May 20th, Cloverfield and There Will be Blood on June 3rd, and The Spiderwick Chronicles on June 24th. Specs on the titles were not revealed yet.
“Paramount Home Entertainment continues to focus on the consumer and to explore avenues that allow fans to get more out of their home entertainment experience,” said Kelley Avery, President of Worldwide Home Entertainment, Paramount Pictures. “We will have a strong slate of titles for Blu-ray release throughout the year worldwide and are enthusiastic about expanding the format’s offerings for a broad consumer audience while delivering an experience that goes beyond what viewers love about DVD.”
Unfortunately, no news on Transformers coming to blu-ray which quite a few people are anxiously expecting…. but as soon as we hear more we’ll post it! So far only for HD-DVD
